Dr. Jason C. Harrill, DPM, FACPM, FFRCPS

Jason C. Harrill, DPM, FACPM, FFRCPS (Glasgow), is a board-certified podiatrist at Desert Foot and Ankle. At its offices in Phoenix and Mesa, Arizona, he specializes in wound management, diabetic foot problems, foot surgery, and rear foot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Harrill received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, where he first met fellow Desert Foot and Ankle doctor, Scott N. Maling, DPM, FACFAS. After medical school, Dr. Harrill completed his residency at Botsford General Hospital at Michigan State University in Farmington Hills.

Dr. Harrill gained much of his expertise from his diverse medical experiences before coming to Desert Foot and Ankle. For example, after his residency, he worked as part of the Indian Health Service, with the Pima people, a Native American tribe with the highest incidence of diabetes in the world.

To stay sharp and informed, Dr. Harrill is a member of several podiatric societies, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, Arizona Podiatric Medical Association, American Board of Podiatric Surgery, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Academy of Wound Management, and American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.

In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Harrill has spent over 10 years lecturing at universities, writing for medical journals, and training new doctors for both private practices and the Baja Project for Crippled Children.

Three times board certified himself in podiatric medicine, surgery of the foot, rear foot and ankle, and wound care, Dr. Harrill also works as a board examiner for the board certification process for the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.

Scott N. Maling, DPM, FACFAS

Scott N. Maling, DPM, FACFAS, of Desert Foot and Ankle in Phoenix and Mesa, Arizona, is a multi-talented board-certified podiatrist. He dedicates much of his time at the practice treating trauma and diabetic foot problems, as well as performing complex reconstructive rear foot and ankle procedures, and ankle replacement surgeries. Dr. Maling also loves working with kids.

Dr. Maling earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. He completed his surgical residency at Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center in Phoenix. Today, he helps train young podiatrists enrolled in this same residency program.

To strengthen his connections in the podiatric community and to keep up on the latest developments in podiatric medicine, Dr. Maling is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, Arizona Podiatric Medical Association, American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Socorro Gabriela Montes, DPM, FACFAS

Socorro Gabriela Montes, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified podiatrist at Desert Foot and Ankle that has locations in Phoenix and Mesa, Arizona. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality foot and ankle care to her patients. Dr. Montes believes in a patient-centered approach that allows her patients to be active participants in their own treatments.

Dr. Montes graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She earned a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. She then completed a surgical residency at Loyola University Medical Center, Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Affairs Hospital in Hines, Illinois.

During her residency, Dr. Montes worked with orthopedics, infectious diseases, and vascular surgery teams, and in a Level 1 trauma center. This specific training allows her to take a multidisciplinary approach when caring for patients with limb-threatening illnesses. Dr. Montes is proficient in various podiatric sub-specialties, including wound care, limb salvage, sports medicine, pediatrics, biomechanics, and elective and non-elective surgery. She values the importance of continuity when it comes to inpatient management and outpatient clinical care.

Dr. Montes is a Certified Foot Surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a Diplomate of American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She is a member of the Arizona Podiatric Medical Association and the American Podiatric Medical Association. She is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Montes enjoys yoga, Pilates, hiking, salsa dancing, photography, concerts, traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with her family.

Mark R. Pipher, DPM, FACFAS, is an expert in lower extremity trauma and reconstructive surgery in children and adults. He cares for patients at the Mesa and Phoenix, Arizona, offices of Desert Foot and Ankle. He also enjoys treating wounds and caring for patients with diabetic foot issues.

Dr. Pipher began his education at Arizona State University in Tempe. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree, he moved northeast to Philadelphia, where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University. Then, he completed his residency at Oakwood Healthcare System in Wayne, Michigan.

Dr. Pipher is a member of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Board of Podiatric Surgery, American Podiatric Medical Association, and Arizona Podiatric Medical Association.

He’s affiliated with several area hospitals and Healing the Children Southwest Chapter, an organization dedicated to bringing quality health care to needy and underserved children. In 2009, he took his humanitarian work abroad to Guatemala, where he performed surgical treatments on children suffering from complex ankle and foot deformities.

Dr. Sisto is a believer in delivering patient-focused care and formulating a specific treatment plan with the goal of giving the best functional result and ultimately, restoring patients quality of life. Whether you’re an professional athlete or weekend warrior, a well-thought out plan will be constructed entailing both nonoperative and operative treatment options. Care is taken to ensure all information is conveyed in a manner the patient understands to optimize recovery and achieve best possible outcomes.

Dr. Sisto treats a variety of foot and ankle conditions including, but not limited to bunions and hammertoes, bunionettes, arthritis, ligament and tendon injuries, fractures, sports injuries, charcot neuroarthropathy, flat feet, and high arches. Dr. Sisto has training in minimally invasive surgery, arthroscopy, ilizarov external fixation/deformity correction, total ankle arthroplasty, and revision surgery amongst a plethora of other procedures.

Following completion of his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, Dr. Sisto completed his four-year medical degree at Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, IL. After medical school, he completed a exhaustive three-year residency with added credential of Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery, at Legacy Health in Portland, OR. In addition, he completed a one-year fellowship in Reconstructive Foot/Ankle and Limb Preservation in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Sisto is passionate about research and teaching evidence-based medicine. He regularly speaks at conferences and has authored novel techniques in foot and ankle trauma surgery. Dr. Sisto continues to be active within the profession and is a member of American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association, and American Society of Podiatric Surgeons.

In his free time, Dr. Sisto enjoys spending time with his wife, newborn baby, and golden doodle. You can also find him on the golf course routinely or reading about Oregon, Italian, or French wines.
